Maggie and Joe’s Sun-Kissed Engagement Session at Monarch Grove, Pismo Beach


There’s something truly special about capturing love in one of California’s most beautiful spots. As a San Luis Obispo engagement photographer, I get to photograph couples in some of the most breathtaking locations, and Maggie and Joe’s engagement session at Monarch Grove in Pismo Beach was no exception. From the golden hour light filtering through the towering eucalyptus trees to the stunning field and beach backdrops, every moment of this session was filled with warmth, beauty, and love.

Maggie and Joe’s story is a beautiful one. After being together for seven years—most of them spent long-distance—their bond has only grown stronger. Now that they’re finally together in the same place, they couldn’t be more excited to plan their upcoming wedding in April. Their journey to this point has been filled with patience, perseverance, and unwavering love, and it was so clear in their smiles and the way they looked at each other during this session.

We started the engagement shoot in the enchanting Monarch Grove in Pismo Beach, one of the best spots for engagement photos in San Luis Obispo County. The towering eucalyptus trees, with their lush green leaves, provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic and intimate session. As a San Luis Obispo engagement photographer, there’s nothing more rewarding than working with couples in these natural, serene environments. The light was absolutely magical, casting soft, golden tones over Maggie and Joe as they shared laughs, whispers, and those sweet, candid moments that make engagement photos so memorable.

From the grove, we ventured over to a stunning open field, where the soft, evening light bathed the couple in warmth. As we captured these moments, it became clear that Maggie and Joe’s love is something truly special. Their joy was contagious, and their connection was so palpable—every glance and every touch spoke volumes. It was the kind of love you can feel when you’re around them.

We wrapped up the session by heading to the beach, where the gentle sound of the waves added a peaceful soundtrack to their engagement photos. The sand, the ocean breeze, and the setting sun created the perfect final scene. As a photographer who specializes in outdoor engagement sessions, I can’t think of a more perfect way to end this beautiful shoot.

Maggie and Joe are getting married in April, and their wedding day is going to be absolutely unforgettable. They’ll be saying their vows at two beautiful San Luis Obispo venues: the downtown Granada Hotel and the San Luis Obispo Country Club. I can already picture their ceremony at the historic Granada Hotel, with its elegant ambiance, followed by a joyful celebration at the Country Club, surrounded by stunning views of the county. It’s going to be the perfect culmination of their story.

As a San Luis Obispo County wedding photographer, it’s an absolute honor to be a part of Maggie and Joe’s journey. Their love is inspiring, and I can’t wait to capture every beautiful moment of their wedding day.
